When we started AfricaNenda in 2021, the goal was simple: to help build inclusive instant payment systems that work for everyone in Africa.
A few years on, that mission remains the same, but we have grown.
Today, I’m pleased to share an important milestone in our journey: the launch of our new AfricaNenda Foundation website. More than a new look, it reflects who we are today and how we support partners across the continent.
Over the past few years, AfricaNenda has evolved from an incubated initiative into an independent, Africa-led foundation. This transition has allowed us to deepen our work with central banks, regulators, and ecosystem partners, and to better support the development of inclusive instant payment systems that are interoperable, accessible, and designed to serve everyone.
As part of this evolution, we are also simplifying how we present ourselves.
We are now AfricaNenda Foundation.
You will notice an updated logo, without a tagline, reflecting a more established organization with a clear and focused mission. This is an important step toward ensuring consistency in how we are recognized and understood across the ecosystem.
Our new website has been designed with our partners in mind: policymakers, regulators, payment system operators, and practitioners working to advance financial inclusion. It makes it easier to access our work, explore our insights, and engage with the resources we share.
You will find a more intuitive experience, improved access to our research and publications, a strengthened knowledge hub, a dedicated media room, and expanded multilingual content to better serve our diverse audience.
While we are proud of the progress made so far, there is still much to be done. Many people across Africa remain excluded from formal financial systems, and advancing inclusive instant payment systems remains critical to addressing this gap.
